what size should i buy
for a 6 lb 11 oz and 19 inches long baby boy
preeemie or will he fit in newborn. how long do you think hell be in newborn because by the end of the month its gonna be cool outside and i want to know what to buy and if hell fit in it when it gets even cooler outside ( its in the 70′s right now)( yay no more heat fall weather is coming early they say)
Peemie clothes fit up to 5lbs…Newborn clothes are 5-8lbs, 0-3months are 8lbs to 12.5lbs. These are just estimates, my son fit into newborn clothes til about 10lbs, so there is some leeway with the sizes. For the sized child you’re talking about, Newborn would probably fit best. Hope this helped
My babe was 5 12 and did not fit in to preemie, but was too little for newborn. I bought newborn although they were a little big and it did not take him long to grow into them. Next I went to 0-3 month he is now 3 months and will fit into some 3 month sizes. It depends on the brand. Gerber seems to fit small. Besides that it is hit and miss

definitely get him newborn (if not 0-3 months).
no way he’ll fit into preemie

Buy newborn. They will be slightly big, but he will be grown into them in a matter of a few weeks. He will be in newborn until he is about 10lbs.

Buy newborn if you are hoping to fit immediately. By 0-3 months if you want it a little loose fitting and get more wear out of it.

My son was 6lbs. 14 oz. and 20 inches long, and he was full term. He wore newborn clothes, even though they were a little big on him for the first few weeks.
I would think preemie size would be too small though, just buy newborn size even though they’ll be a little big for a while. But like I said, after a few weeks he fit into the newborn fine, so it’s not worth it to buy preemie sizes even if they do fit for just a few weeks.

My son was born 8 lbs 3.5 oz and 22 inches long. He fit preemie clothes (carters and gran-animals) for 2-3 weeks and then wore newborn until he was about three months old (over 10 pounds by then). He wore 0-3 months for a little over a month and 3-6 for a month or so also. He fits some 3-6 month still, and 6 months are a little big. He is now 26 inches and almost 16 pounds.
It really depends on the brand. Gerber and Gran-animals (wal-mart brand) seem to run smaller. Children’s place and gymboree are a little on the larger boxier side. Carter’s are stretchy and long, which was perfect for my son (he was long and skinny). In my opinion the longer the outfit the longer the wear and the stretchiness helped him stay in it longer too. My son can still fit 0-3 month in Carters for size, but the outfit is too short for him.
So my advice to you is to buy mostly newborn sizes and a few 0-3 month sizes… and definitely get a 0-3 month jacket (so he can grow with it). Yes he will be able to fit preemie but you’ll get more use with the newborn sizes. Get an outfit or two in preemie so that if you need to go somewhere he has an outfit that fits nicely.
And be careful about buying boy pants or two piece outfits. All companies measure by the length down and your son might actually need a smaller size in two piece outfits. My son can wear all 3-6 month if it is a shirt and pant/shorts outfit, but needs a 6 month onzie. In pants he needs a 0-3 month for the waist but 6 month for length. I settled on a little bit of "high waters" and a little loose waist in the 3-6 month. Can’t always get it right.
I wish companies would use the same sizing chart and make life easier! Oh, keep your receipt and return what looks snug cuz he won’t wear that for long.
