How long are newborns in newborn clothes for? would it be worth me buying a lot of newborn clothes? or just essential newborn clothes like vests and sleepsuits then getting everything else for 0-3months?
Your baby will outgrow clothes, very very fast. One thing to remember is that just because the size of the clothes say 0 – 3 months or 3 -6 months it may not be the case. You will find out that many clothes that are supposed to be the same size are not. This varies by brand and can even vary within different clothing lines within a brand.
One thing I always suggest and did, is to go to a gently used kids clothing store. Once Upon a Child is a national franchise that may be in your city. See if they are, and look for other used baby clothing stores. These places are great for many reasons.
1) They only take in good clothes which are not damaged or stained. many are new, especially in this size range.
2) Since your baby will outgrow these clothes so fast you can take them to the store once outgrown and get store credit for them. It will be less than you paid, but at least you get something.
Search your town for these types of places. Some may be locally owned. Stay away from Salvation Army, Goodwill and Value Village unless you are looking for cheaper stuff.
To answer your question. Buy 0 – 3 months, but if possible, buy more 3 – 6 months.
