My son is 14 months and I still use the All free and clear. I dont see why his clothes need to smell like Tide and put all those chemicals and perfumes on him. How long did you use baby detergent for?
yeah dreft is expensive. I got All in bulk and it was alot more cost effective
most detergents have the same ingrediants. its all about the buck!! i tried all those fancy and expensive things for my children too.. but get this>>> good old baking soda and hydrogen peroxide are the best and cheapest , and most envrionmental friendly agents. not to mention the safest things to use for your children and multiple things around the house. use baking soda and little peroxide to wash and disinfect their clothes. if you want you can add a little lemon juice to the load. the acid gets rid of most stains even proteins like blood. i promise their clothes will come out clean and disinfected. if you want to go all out, let the clothes air dry and toss them into the dryer for 5 minutes just when they’re barely damp. you wont have static cling, your gas/electric bill will be much less and the uv light from the sun will kill any bacteria. by the way peroxide and baking soda can be used to clean almost anything in the house too. use peroxide as a mouth wash and teeth brightner, use it to disinfect your bathroom and shower. spray it on your body for a great looking skin. go on line and read about peroxide, its one of the most versetile and best agents to have around

I only used it til my daughter was 6 months old. Her doc only recommened it for the first 3 or months and said that if regular detergent irritated her skin then to switch back. But it never did so I’ve been washing her clothes in the same detergent I wash my clothes in. I just don’t use heavily perfumed detergent. Still mild, but dreft is so expensive.

I think I used it till my son was a year. Then it was just easier to mix his clothes with mine.

I USE THE SAME DETERGENT FOR BABY AS THE REST OF THE FAMILY. AS LONG AS YOU DON’T CHANGE BRANDS ALL THE TIME AND AS LONG AS BABY’S SKIN DOESN’T SEEM IRRITATED, YOU ARE FINE.

We have always used Tide, and it hasn’t irritated the babies in our house (the triplets are 2.5 and the twins are 7 months). If you like to use the free & clear, that’s fine !

We used the All Free and Clear for a few months, Dreft was too expensive… but now I used All Secret Garden scented and it’s wonderful-our clothes are super soft and smell amazing. I also use Kirkland fabric softener, which smells wondeful…
I used to think the scent free stuff would be better in terms of for a baby/toddler’s sensitive skin, but I haven’t noticed a difference, except our clothes smell WAY BETTER now

I used dreft for my son until he was about 13 months. I then Tide and just washed it separately from the household laundry until he told 2. Now he is 3 and I wash everything together. I never had problem with rashes or allergies and he is asthmatic so I am extremely careful what is around him. What you can do to see if it will be a problem is use the detergent that you used on your clothes on a shirt that will be next to his body. If he breaks out in rash or his skins is irritated then continue using the Dreft.

I used it for the first six months but it wasn’t necessary past the first three months. I hung the clothes out to dry and I found that the dreft kept the clothes from feeling so stiff and scratchy.

I use the HE detergent from Sears that is free of all scents. I use the same on my clothes as the kids clothes. I wash separately just because the kids clothes always need stain treatment and it’s easier to do them by themselves.

My daughter is going to be 2 soon and I still use baby detergent on her clothes. I use Purex Baby so it’s not as expensive as Dreft. I tried a few times to start washing her clothes with our normal detergent but she kept breaking out in rashes. I guess she just has sensitive skin. So I just stick to using the baby detergent. Plus it makes her clothes smell good

With my 1st child I used it until the samples ran out – with my next 2 I didn’t use it at all.

My son had sensitive skin so I washed his in it for a long time then my second came and all of her newborn clothes were washed in it and then when she was around 3 months I ran out but had to do her laundry. No reaction to regular detergent – I never went back to free & clear.

We use Baby All and she will be two in August. She does have eczema so I am a little scared to switch to our regular detergent. But mostly, I just love the baby smell, even though my baby is getting to be a big girl…tear, tear…
