I’m a college student living in the dorms. I do laundry, on average, twice a week. My problem is my clothes fade. I can’t keep them bright looking. I don’t know what cycle, temperature, detergent, or drying cycle to use. :/ Please give me advise..

use a soap that is made for colors or darks like woolite for darks or al purpose for colors. helps keep the colors in since it does not have optical brighteners in them. do the clothes in cold water on a shorter wash cycle, unless you have some items that are super dirty then put them in a smaller wash and wash longer.
dry on a low setting, which avoids shrinking.
wash items inside out, specially darker items like jeans and shirts, or anything with stitching or designs.
