They were in garbage bags in the corner of my shed for the past 3 months, my lawn mower and gasoline cans are in there too. I guess I just didn’t think about it. I’m washing them right now. Is it wrong to sell them or do you think they will be okay? There are no gasoline on them just the smell.
Start the wash, use hot water and add baking soda and vinegar to the laundry detergeant. Then when it starts to agitate, pull out the handle and let them soak for a couple of hours, start the wash again. After they’re done, if they still smell like gasoline, try it again. But if after 2 times, and they still smell like gasoline, then I wouldn’t sell them.
I think it will be fine.
You might want to add some baking soda or vinegar to your wash water, and expect to wash a couple of times. It could take a coupl eof washings to get the smell completely out.
