I have a 6-year-old daughter. When she was an infant and toddler, it was easy to find modest clothing for her. But at a size 6x, it has become increasingly difficult to find modest things for her to wear. Everything is hip hugging, plunching neckline, bare back, etc.

Would you be willing to pay a little extra and shipping costs to get fashionable but modest clothes at an online retailer that specialized in such for little girls? Or would you prefer the cheaper, slightly or hugely immodest clothes at your local retailers?
Hmmm, maybe I should have worded my question differently. I am more thinking, would it be beneficial to open an online store that specialized in modest clothing for children. Is there a demand for something like that, or would it be a waste of an investor’s money?

I don’t have a girl yet, but I would definitely pay a little bit more for modest clothes. I know that shopping for myself I’ve often been turned off at how skimpy clothes are nowadays. I’ve had luck at the Gap, so maybe Gap Kids might be a good place to find modest clothes for your child, just an idea.

I have 2 girls and never had the problem of finding modest clothing for them. When you can’t find what you want…there is no need to pay so much.Choose something that goes accordingly with your dress codes , buy the fabric you like and send it to a seamstress!.You will save a lot.

I have 4 girls and 1 boy. My girls will never be allowed to wear some of the trash that is out there until they move out. I don’t tell them that or then they will want to. I get Victoria secret mags in the mail and they say Gross! Good thing I guess. I like to shop on line and in stores I do let them pick out clothes and they usually do a great job. I am sure when they hit their teen years things will change a bit but I think as long as I dress nice and not sleazy for a mom then hopefully they will follow in my footsteps. I like the clothes and under-ware from Victoria secret I don’t dress like a hoe. Good luck. I will compromise with my girls as they grow up.

we like to go to the local resale for unique clothes. I say unique because sometimes parents add patches or cool things to the clothes.

I think that if you go to the Children’s Place they have some cute and modest clothes for little girls. And their prices aren’t too bad, either. They also have a website: http://www.childrensplace.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Home?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=10001 If you want to buy online, their online shipping rate is cheap, only a flat fee of $5.
Also, you may want to try Old Navy. They are somewhat like The Children’s Place, but don’t have better sales (though they do have great ones!) You can also shop online: http://www.oldnavy.com/browse/home.do Old Navy also has their "Famous $5 Shipping" online, but I think that it’s free if you spend over $100.

    Hope that helps!

No it would be a waste. Little girls nowadays wear immodest clothes and no one thinks a thing of it. As long as it’s socially acceptable, parents will dress their children in fashionable clothes. No one would pay more for modest clothes. They can find them already at the Children’s Place, Gap, OshKosh B’Gosh, and Old Navy. Another store isn’t needed.
