I have four children under the age of six and ,as I am sure you can imagine, they play outside a lot and therefore shoes don’t last long. Flip flops from Old navy and Gap? Gone in a week. I have found some durable shoes, but the prices are around $60 where I live. I am not willing to spend around $240 for shoes. If you have a toddler or know of where I can find some shoes that (kind of) meet my standards, please share! Links, Brands, and Stores are greatly needed. (If it matters, my childrens shoe sizes(little kid) are: 4, 9, 8, and 12) Thanks!
I agree with Smiling Eyes – Ross is GREAT. My 19 month old daughter Loves her shoes – always wants to wear them. I got a nice pair of sneakers there for half the original cost and they are amazingly durable. It’s been like 4 months – she wears them every day – they are still in fantastic shape and they seem comfy on her. I have other sneakers some friends have given me as hand me downs, but she always picks the pair from Ross.
You could also try Ebay. Considering that kids that young don’t usually wear shoes for to long you can still get good use out of used ones. Have you also tried googling ‘discount shoes’ ?
We wear Stride Rite shoes. They’re expensive so he only has one pair right now. He’ll get two for the summer — sandals & tennis shoes.
You might be able to get a discount if you bring all the kids in at once. A friend has twins and the local Stride Rite store gives her a twin discount.
To save money she buys the kids’ everyday shoes at Stride Rite and then their good shoes at Target. She figures since they don’t wear their good shoes very often that she can skimp on the quality.

I get my son’s shoes at walmart, I don’t get pricey shoes, because all shoes wear out as quick as any other even expensive shoes. My rule with my son is is he is going somewhere wear he will be playing alot he wears sneakers. And when we just go somewhere other then that he can wear sandals. My son is 3 and very active but only goes through one pair and showes, boots, and sandals.

Try Ross or Marshalls. They have brand name shoes like " stride rite, osh kosh bgosh, carters, etc…" they aren’t the latest styles but if you need shoes for kids to play outside in the yard….they’re good enough. My son (28 months) wears size 12 shoes and they’re about 10-15 dollars a pair, depending on the style.
BTW, I love buying toddler socks at Ross too. Nice, quality socks for about a dollar a pair, not bad at all.

Smiling Eyes is right, also Marshalls has layaway, I usually get Skechers for my son he is 4 1/2 and he is really rough on his shoes and they seem to take the beating, I was able to get some skechers for about 28.00 at Kohl’s on sale. Kohl’s is a good place to try as well.
