Im starting my part time job soon & my cousin is 4months pregnant,Im really close to her & she also asked me to be the god mother to her child,I can’t wait & I really want to spoil her with gifts for the baby, the baby showers not for 2months but I want to be prepaired so I will know where to go to get everything from! Im looking for the cheapest places that have nice/decent looking clothes,I want to buy alot of clothes for the baby & I want to get some reasonable priced toys or other things the baby may need,Can you please suggest cheap/reasonably priced places where I will find these things??? I really can’t wait! Im so EXCITED! =)
Do you have a JcPenneys card? They send out coupons to the card holders for like, $10 off any purchase when you use your card to pay. Then they have door buster sales at least one Saturday a month where the clothes go on crazy low prices for 4 hours in the morning.
Last weekend I bought my daughter a snowsuit, gloves, boots, a formal fall coat, jeans, and a long sleeve shirt for $35 including tax. That was during a door buster with a coupon though.
If your cousin is 4 months pregnant though she will have her baby when it starts to warm up again. You could buy her a lot of cute 3/6 month and 6/9 month summer clothes on clearance. Stores like Sears and Kohls have those 80% off racks that are amazing, and the only time you get good deals is when you shop for unborn babies for next season. Bigger sizes get picked over.
There really is no such thing as reasonable prices on toys for babies. Again, the older children toys get clearanced out frequently but a rattle for baby never goes out of fashion.
Sign up for baby clubs online. Put in her birth date and claim it as your own child so you get the stuff, then just pass it on to her. Graco often gives away freebies when they release a new product (small things like swaddling blankets, but still nice), and Playskool is amazing at giving away free toys. Usually they are geared towards older toddlers/preschoolers though.
Edit: And please do not buy things like bottles from the dollar store. As a mom the only thing of "quality" I’ve found at the dollar store for babies is socks. I would MUCH rather someone gave me one name-brand bottle than 5 crappy dollar store ones with BPA.
You can get all sorts of bottles, and other items at the Dollar Store.
Also, if she doesn’t mind second-hand items, locate your nearest Freecycle group and request some baby stuff, These items are free of charge.
Find your local group: http://www.freecycle.org – locate the state and local city.
Best of luck!

Walmart, K-mart & Target tend to be the least expensive for general baby needs. Watch sale ads for those stores too. You can get baby things at Dollar stores too but check it out first… sometimes the items are actually cheaper at places like Walmart.
Since you have time before the baby arrives, watch for sales at JC Penney. They have incredible sales on baby clothes. I’ve picked up adorable Carter’s outfits for my boys for $3-5 each at Penney’s (cheaper than wal-mart!).
Have fun shopping and congrats on your new little family member!

Super Markets do some really lovely clothes for babies atm and they also do good value toys…..You will also be able to pick up a bargain atm with all the sales and that…..I always think its nice if you get the mummy a presesnt too….that way she honestly feels supported and that people are there for her and the baby…i would suggest some nice bath oils and stuff so she can pamper herself before the baby is born….cause she isnt going to get a chance after the baby arrives lol!
I wish your cousin all the best and i hope she realises what a lovely caring and thoughtful cousin she has!

Ross has really cheap clothes, especially if you can find them on clearance, TJ Maxx has nicer clothes that are decent priced, Walmart is of course cheap and they all sell toys and things, though you probably don’t want to buy certain things at TJ Maxx or Ross because it may be something that has been discontinued or recalled (I saw some stuff there the other day that I know they had recalled) You can also find cheap suff if you look on the clearance racks at Old Navy and Target, their stuff goes on clearance constantly.

There’s wholesale places online (links below) and there’s also thrift shops in town usually that have some baby clothes. Also don’t forget to go to flea markets and Garage sales. You can sometimes haggle the prices down at the last two places. Good luck
