I feel like a moron asking this, but I have a three year old daughter that wears a 5t. She’s very tall for her age and I am shopping online for clothes for her. A lot of the websites don’t have the toddler sizes, so I was wondering what the closest regular size would be to the t’s and if it’s close enough that it might fit her. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Toddler sizes stop at 4T; regular little girls’ sizes start at 4 (NOT the same as 4T) and go to 7X. Big girls’ sizes start at 7 (slim, if you are looking for jeans) and go to 16, or 16-1/2 plus (some Levis). Depending on her level of patience for trying on clothes, you might want to consider reserving a Saturday (EARLY!!!) for a girls’ shopping day, and have her try on clothes in several different brands as sizes are not always consistent from brand to brand and style to style. Plan on an EARLY lunch someplace she likes to go, and home early in the afternoon for naps – for BOTH of you!!! RE websites: if you will visit the websites of your favorite stores, once you have had one or more trying-on sessions, you will find a greater selection and, depending on the store, you should be able to return items which do not fit to the store instead of having to send them back in the mail; just be sure you save your receipts/proof of payment/shipping invoices!
Word of advice on the shopping sessions: DON"T try to go this coming Friday or Saturday, stores will be EXTREMELY crowded and shopping with a toddler will be VERY stressful!
My niece is a size 4t in height, but she needs a larger size because she is chubby and has bigger shoulders. The larger sizes are too long however. Is there a store that specializes in clothing for larger children?
JC Penney used to have fuller-cut clothing for children. I don’t recall which catalogs I’ve seen, but I have seen some catalogs with girls’ clothes in sizes for larger children.
I don’t really understand, though, why she can’t wear whatever jersey fits her shoulders and whatever skirt or pants fit her from the waist down. When it comes to dresses it may actually be flattering for her to wear a larger dress that comes down a little longer – kind of elegant, particularly when worn with the right shoes.
At about four years old there are overalls and other types of pants that actually wouldn’t look all that bad rolled up, but hemming is also a possibility.
Something else to consider is the type of top or dress (how it is cut). Some thing are styled in a way that they’re kind of supposed to be full anyway; others are aimed at fitting snugly. Just stay away from those.
No name on tag, just a Long silver heart with a smaller silver heart inside it. Bought this cute toddler girl’s sweater at a garage sale and don’t know who makes it. Would like to buy more of their products. Thnks!!
i think it might be the children’s place…they have a heart on the back of their jeans
Very cute clothes.. Not brand new. But nice and clean. Newborn 0-3months and toddlers 24 months-2T. I’d hate to just give them to Goodwill or Salvation Army to be sold. Like to give them to someone who is really in need. I live in Holiday,FL. Willing to deliver if not too far away.
Is there a bulletin board in your local supermarket or library? This would insure the person in need is local.
Don’t leave a phone number; but create an e-mail address on Yahoo or some other site just for this purpose.
Thanks for being such a generous individual.
How do you find clothing for very petite little girls. My six year old wears 4T. My 3 year olds are close to wearing 2T or 3T. I can find pants with buttons in the waist, but do you know any other petite toddler clothing stores. I mean mainly for summer stuff: swimsuits, dresses (the ones we own are quite large!), and shirts.
My children have the same problem, because they are so small.

i just got custody of my 3 yr old niece after my sister passed away, i don’t know much about raising a little girl, but i’m learning fast. where can i buy toddler clothes for her. i know that she wears a 3T, i’m not sure what that means yet, or where to buy quality inexpensive clothing for her can somebody help?
I am so sorry for yours and hers lost! 3T means that her clothing size is a 3 in toddlers, but because 3 yr olds grow fast, you will probably want a 4T if they seem like they will fit her. Target is a pretty good place for inexpensive children’s clothing, and it’s pretty good quality too. She will also need enrichment toys which can be anything from books to read to her, to building blocks, to dolls. Those can be bought inexpensively at places like target and dollar stores, just make sure the things you buy aren’t chocking hazards. If you haven’t already, you may want to enroll her in a daycare or a preschools so she can interact with other kids her age. If you have any questions feel free to email me through my answers account.
I have clothes for toddler girls. All excellent condition. Toys very new looking and I’d like to give to a 2-3 year old who doesn’t have anything much. Would used stuff be wrong and how do I find the family who needs the stuff, besides craigslist. I have brand new boots for little girl, brand new shoes, huge elmo stuffed animals that sat in closet, very nice stuff. I live in Phoenix, az.
have you checked with your local church or a church near your home? they would be able to find a good family that could use the stuff.
i’m with you on not trusting craigslist-there are too many people on there who love to scam so your stuff wouldn’t be given to people you actually intend it for.
another good place to donate things would be the Phoenix children’s hospital (near 3rd st and thomas) or a crisis nursery in your area. the crisis nursery takes in children from abused homes and they are always needing donations-especially clothing-i’ve dropped my stuff off there before and they were overly grateful for it.
My girls will be 2 and 3 next month. Up until a few months before Christmas, my oldest wore a 2T and my youngest wore size 18 months. Now with summer approaching, I decided to get them each a pair of new shorts to see what sizes they would need. My youngest can’t wear anything bigger than size 12 months in shorts because she is so petite. I thought that was funny because she is so tall that size 2T pants are getting short on her. My oldest got a pair of shorts sized 4T and they were tight around her belly. I’m having a difficult time finding clothes for them. I already had to hem my oldest’ pants over winter because she is short and chubby. My youngest has to wear belts with pants and those are hard to find for her. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can do? Also, does anyone else wish they made kids clothes like they do for adults? I’m talking about the tall/short/petite/plus, etc. sizes,
What a good idea! my daughter is very tall and skinny. i have to buy 3T pants to get them long enough for her but they are wayyyyy to big in the waist! she wears an 18month in shorts. She turned 2 in February and thank goodness my mother and mother in law can both sew to alter her clothing to fit correctly! oh check the childrens place for belts, Ive had some luck there! Other than finding someone who can alter the clothing i think you will just have to continue what you are doing now! Good Luck!
