My mom picked out my clothes every day for school up until I was 10 years old.
I was always allowed a say in what she bought for me, but she layed out my clothes every morning.
Around 6 or 7. If it’s a special occasion like a wedding, i help him pick it out. I don’t say ” You’re wearing this”. I give my 11 y/o son options.
I love to shop for my children..what are some of your favorite kids stores to shop at?
Thanks
I love to shop at Gap, Gymboree, Childrens Place, Old Navy, JC Penney, Sears even Walmart and Target have cute clothes..
I love to shop too!!
My son is 14 months and I still use the All free and clear. I dont see why his clothes need to smell like Tide and put all those chemicals and perfumes on him. How long did you use baby detergent for?
yeah dreft is expensive. I got All in bulk and it was alot more cost effective
most detergents have the same ingrediants. its all about the buck!! i tried all those fancy and expensive things for my children too.. but get this>>> good old baking soda and hydrogen peroxide are the best and cheapest , and most envrionmental friendly agents. not to mention the safest things to use for your children and multiple things around the house. use baking soda and little peroxide to wash and disinfect their clothes. if you want you can add a little lemon juice to the load. the acid gets rid of most stains even proteins like blood. i promise their clothes will come out clean and disinfected. if you want to go all out, let the clothes air dry and toss them into the dryer for 5 minutes just when they’re barely damp. you wont have static cling, your gas/electric bill will be much less and the uv light from the sun will kill any bacteria. by the way peroxide and baking soda can be used to clean almost anything in the house too. use peroxide as a mouth wash and teeth brightner, use it to disinfect your bathroom and shower. spray it on your body for a great looking skin. go on line and read about peroxide, its one of the most versetile and best agents to have around
My daughter is 2. I don’t allow her to have chewing gum yet; because she tends to play with it and it usually ends up on her clothes. I’ve tried removing the gum but it sure gets sticky. Two of her best outfits were ruined; because I have no idea how to remove the gum. Can someone please enlighten me? I’m a new mom and need help.
Put the item of clothing in a plastic food container with the gum-afflicted bit on top.
Put in the freezer overnight.
Remove, take lid off container and pick off the brittle gum while it is still frozen solid.
I’m wondering if people bother to do this and if so, where do you get the supplies and how do you learn to do it? I always like my kids to dress differently than the other kids, but I was thinking about adding sequins or stones to some of the jeans to make sure that they are in fact one of a kind.
Any helpful tips?
Please and thank you!
I bedazzle, bead and sequin everything. But I have a small fashion line and that’s what i use to make my stuff stand out…it’s my signature.
When i was younger i got a lot of supplies from a craft store like Michaels. They have nail heads, rhinestones, appliqués patches, beads, sequins –plus they have kits for customizing clothes, tie dye kits. distressed denim kits, instruction leaflets, whatever you might want and or need. Their website has a few tips and tricks. I learned by reading the instructions and I learned a lot by experimenting and simply doing it.
Check out Craftster.org. it’s an on-line community of people who love to make things and they have tips, tricks, tutorials, links to stores, links to lessons, -it’s a great place for people who love being one of a kind.

my 2 girls love wearing their new clothes but now they have stains all over them and i was planning on using them for school clothes this fall. anyone know th best way to get out set in stains like food or mud/dirt??someone tou.ld be to soak in biz..does that work???
vinegar or hydrogen peroxide. I keep a bottle of HP and place it in a squirt bottle. It is good for disinfecting counter tops, cutting boards, spot removal on everything, baths, tubs, hold in your mouth for one minute and swish it around and it whitens the teeth. Spray on hair a couple times a week to keep the hair blonde, also helps the scalp. It is the one thing that works like a charm, cost little, and environment friendly. If you use it in the mouth it may tingle a bit. Do not use everyday as it will make the gums tender, but kills bacteria that causes tooth decay and gum disease. If you use everyday for teeth, use some water with it.
I actually use this method!
