I have seen some conversion charts but they did not show a size as small as European size 68. My guess is that it’s meant to be the equivalent of a U.S. size 6 mo., but it looks similar in size to some items we have that are 18 mos. I want to pass this sweater on to someone who can use it but need a guess as to how big/old a child it’s meant for. Thanks.
I googled and found it is equivalent to 6 months.
I adore American infant/childrens clothing, they are so much cuter and funkier than the UK. My question is can anyone recommend online stores that deliver to the UK/Europe? I have bought a few things from ebay but wondered if there were any others out there. If not, could you suggest clothing stores as my firends are due to travel the the US and I can point them in the right direction.
Check out www.GotApparel.com
They have many styles for babies and infants in all colors. The best part is that they ship international, so you won’t have to worry about anything else. Look at the Rabbit Skins and Apples & Oranges product line.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!

Gymboree maybe?
I am buying some clothes online at oldnavy.com for my one year old baby girl. She is very lean, wears a sz 12 months. I was wondering if anyone knew how sizes are at old navy? They have size 6-12 months or 12-18 months. She is very petite 18lb 8oz. Hardto buy online because of that. She received some clothes from pumpkin patch and they r size 6-12 which fit her just fine. But again, different brands run different. So does anyone know about old navy? Does it run small, big, true to size? Thanks
I think they run pretty true to size….my son is pretty evenly proportioned, and the waist isn’t too huge like some brands.
I just became a new aunt yesterday but the baby was born very premature and only weighs 4 pounds. I have an old navy card and plan on buying size 0 months infant clothing from there, but does anyone know if they will fit or is there anywhere else i can go to buy premie clothing.
Hi am the grandmother of 2 preemies, one was a micro and the other was 5.5 lbs. Nothing from the store fit him, not even the stuff that said preemie. He just swam in it.
He was the most recent and if you want at least a few things that will fit, got to avababys.com They specialize in nothing but small preemies.
You will find a very large selection of really cute little things that will fit perfectly and they are affordable.
My neice is a few days short of 4 months, and she is only 10 pounds. Do I buy newborn clothes? Or do I buy the 0-6 month size? What diaper? I see the newborn sizes go up to 10 lbs. usually, or should I get size one to be safe? My employer has given me paid leave for one month due to thie extenuating circumstance to "figure this all out". And I’m still lost. How much clothing does a baby need in their wardrobe? I’ve been to the Carters outlet and spent close to $300 on receiving blankets, burp cloths, towels, booties, 0-3 month clothes (figured I couldn’t go wrong there) and baby items like wipes, diapers and lotions, wash, etc etc. What else do I need?
David W> No, I’m adopting my sisters special needs baby, thank you very much. I’m glad my employer is not a bonehead like you.
Hello!! People the time off work is due to the legal issues surrounding the adoption of my niece and finding childcare so I can return to work. Not just to find baby accoutrements. That’s silly.
The clothes you already bought should be wearable for a little while, but you should probably buy 3-6M size. As far as how many, it depends on how often you want to do wash. I’m a baby clothes addict so my kids had nearly enough to wear a different outfit for the first 3 months of their life!! Onesies are important but I can’t say I ever used receiving blankets for anything more than something to change the baby on.
Diapers I’d say a size 1, although most brands are NOT the same size so you need to experiment.
As far as other things you need, I’d invest in a bouncy seat which will be invaluable to you for the next 6 months or so, but as far as the basics go you seem like you pretty much have everything covered.
You might want to buy some baby Tylenol and gas medicine to keep on hand as well, and a baby bathtub or sling to put in the big tub. You might choose to get the book "What to expect the first year" too – very informative.
Good luck!
Or toddler clothing. I’m not sure when a child goes from being an infant to a toddler.
Anyway..My cousin just had her first baby boy about 6 months ago so my mother and I have been baby-shopping like crazy. I noticed on the clothing that it said "12-14 months". At that point, the child is a year old. Why is it still recognized as months old? And when does it go to regular sizes? It’s an odd question, I know.
Because they go by months until they are 24 months, after that it goes by years. The reason they do that is because babies hit milestones at 3, 6, 9, 12, 18 and 24 months then they will just develop slower from that point especially with weightgain and growth. At 24 months they can go into 2T then 3T, 4T and 5T. After 5T comes regular sizes.

We are a low income family and I’ve looked on Ebay and some of that stuff is not at all cheap. Is there somewhere on the internet where I can buy nice, fairly used, good condition cheap clothing. My kids are in desperate need for the coming season.
