O.k. let me see if i can get this straight…Angelina and Brad pitt have millions of dollars but for the first cover photo shoot of their new baby girl shiloh, they dress her in boy clothing on the front cover of this weeks people complete with a skull teeshirt. I’m not a millionaire but when i brought both my kids home from the hospital, they were in cute infant clothes. has anybody else thought of that when they saw the cover.
They are already saying in the article, that she has brad’s blue eyes, Well of course, all babies have blue eyes when they are born(Duh)!!! and angelina’s full lips, which i did not think so…i personally do not think it was a cute baby but only time will tell.
In the lives of those wealthy Hollywood people the little shirt she has on is considered very hip. It is an oufit for a girl, and the shirt says pots and pans, it’s from Kingsley brand and it’s priced at 42 bucks. To each their own. I see nothing wrong with it personally.
I’m mother of a lovely little girl, and I’m six months pregnant with her younger brother. I’m in the process of going through her infant clothes and sorting out little dresses etc, which don’t seem quite suitable for a boy. Now, it had happened several times to me, that my little girl was dressed in a bright pink skirt and people still asked me ‘What is HIS name?’/'How old is HE?’. So I start wondering, if people despite of pink skirts refer to any child as a boy anyways, do I really need to bother sorting out/dying pink onesies, t-shirts etc. just because he is a boy? Or would it be really odd dressing a boy in e.g. a pink t-shirt and blue trousers? (Just to make it clear: I’m not planning to put him in dresses or skirts.)
Eh. I dressed my daughter in boys’ hand-me-downs quite a lot, and my younger brother got a lot of his sisters’ hand-me-downs. No one is psychologically scarred, I promise. Even kids who are dressed in pink for girls and blue for boys get called the wrong gender all the time. I say, if it keeps them warm, I don’t care if girls wear blue and red Thomas the Train shirts, or if boys wear Princess Jasmine shirts. Who cares. The function of clothing is to cover and keep them warm, so if it does that, there’s nothing more needs to be said.
Boys can wear girls’ clothes if girls can wear boys’ clothes. Let’s not have a double standard here, one standard is enough to keep up with on its own.
my son is 13 months old and for his whole life the boys clothes in the infant section at walmart seems to be getting smaller and smaller but the girls section is getting bigger and bigger. i was lucky to find clothes that were his size before they were gone i had to by his summer clothes in january when the display hit the floor because now they are all gone well for his size any way. i called the 1-800 number and the manager of my local store called me back and said that they were in the process of starting a remodel of that section and that there would be more there. i was like that does not fix the problem of there not being any boy clothes there. you would think that since the boy clothes go like hot cakes there would be more.
so do any of you other mommies fell the same or is it just my area?
glad to know that i am not the only one. i just do not see why there are so many girls and not boys.
yea i know about meijers but they do not have them down where i live i kind of like them better at least while i lived in ohio but i was not a mom then
we should all PROTEST walmart but it will be hard because i can not afford target or other stores for that matter
Damian has cute shirts and shorts for the summer but when its fall and winter i do not know what we will do.
most of the shirts have cute sayings on them like.
my dad knows alot buy mommy knows better
thats it i am telling grandpa
i do not have to take this i am going to grandmas
and so on they are so cute
pipers mommy where do you live in my area there are maybe 5 racks of boys and at least 10 girls. i find almost all of his clothes cute the only thing that i do not find cute is the ya gabba gabba line but do not like show oh and sponge bob
I have been noticing that as well.It is very aggravating..There is very little space for boys clothing where I live, whereas the girls have more than half of the baby section.Drives me crazy.
Where can I find baby boy clothes that AREN’T cover in cars/puppy’s/dinosaurs? It seems like all the newborn/infant boy clothes I find are trying too hard to be cute. Does anyone know of a brand or store that sells clothes that look cute but don’t have stupid little creatures on them? I’m looking for normal looking clothes that just happen to be really small lol. Thanks
haha! When you find out what store carries these, let me know if they have clothes for girls that won’t compare my daughter to food. She isn’t daddy’s little cupcake.
My daughter was born at 6 lbs 15 oz and was 21 inches long. She is now 2 1/2 months and is 12 lbs 13 oz and 23 inches long, and wearing Carter’s 6 month clothes. I do have 2 older boys, but I cannot remember how the sizes worked with them, as one is 13 years old and the younger is 10, so it’s been 10 years since I’ve dealt with this! I have a whole bunch of 6 month summer clothes and I’m afraid to take the tags off of them because she has almost doubled her weight in 2 months. Her babysitter tells me she’s going to slow down now for a while and will wear the 6 month clothes until she’s about 6 months. Can anyone help me, because if I have to exchange this stuff, I have to do it soon or I won’t get full credit for it!
I’m gonna go ahead and bring the summer stuff back and get store credit to be safe. If she’s still in 6 month by summer, I can always go back and get it again with the credit. Being that she’s not even 3 months and is completely grown out of 3-6 month clothes, this is probably my best bet, because if she’s wearing 6 month clothes now, I’m pretty sure she’ll be in Carter’s 9 months by the time she’s 4 1/2 months.
Thanks Moms!
My daughter stuck pretty close to the sizes…wearing 6 month clothes when she was 6 months old, 12 month clothes at 12 months, etc. If you are concerned, just go and take the clothes back. You can always repurchase similar items if she’s still wearing 6-month size clothing when summer hits.
I have over 100, possibly over 200 pieces of clothing (boy sizes infant to 12months). Summer and winter clothes. Most of it has never been worn and some still have tags. No stains on anything. Items include: onesies, shirts, shorts, pants, hats, socks, shoes (13 pair), snow suit, many nice collared shirts, full snowsuit still with tags, and a couple costumes as well. I need some quick cash and am posting it on craigslist.com but need to figure out a set amount for the entire lot just in case I am asked. Help?
Please, no advertisements/spam. I am only asking for a suggestion on a price based on the information I have given.
Try this in 3 stages. Put the entire lot up for $400 cash. A full snowsuit costs a lot of money so $400 could be a steal.
Next week, change your ad to 25 pieces for $75.
Next week, 10 pieces for $40.
Lots of people are going to want your items. They might not have the cash to buy it all.
Or rent a booth at a flea market and surprise everyone by cooking hot dogs for every person who buys from you. People will flock to your booth. Sometimes you have to spend money to make money.
i had a boy born 1 month ago weighing in at 11lbs,14oz and 23 inches long. i am well aware that is huge for a newborn, and i know that he is wearing clothes made for babies well beyond his age. i’m past that point. but i am wondering if he is also odd-shaped. he has a really long torso. his legs don’t LOOK misproportioned to me, but maybe it’s just because i’m used to him. i just wonder b/c he is wearing 3-6 month onsies and even those are snug lenth-wise, some don’t fit at all. i even had him in a 6-9 month collar shirt and it his belly kept popping out of it (that did seem a bit small for 6-9 months though). but he is still wearing 0-3 month pants. the 3-6 month pants are way too long. so although he is "tall", he’s all body. is that uncommon? i wonder if other babies that aren’t born monster-sized have this same problem…
thanks!
wow i though my daughter was big 10 lbs 15 oz!!! anywho i have her in 0-3 pants and 3-6 shirts…and dont even ask about sleepers…every place makes them different…she fits in carters 3 month but i have one that is 6-9 and then i got one from the childrens place and it is a 3-6 and fits perfect!!! she will be 3 months on the 24th. childrens sizing are so dumb…so many cloths say up to 12 pounds…well my daughter is about 14 lbs now and fit in them….then i have this dress from gymboree…she will fit in this forever, its huge!!! lol
