I have four children under the age of six and ,as I am sure you can imagine, they play outside a lot and therefore shoes don’t last long. Flip flops from Old navy and Gap? Gone in a week. I have found some durable shoes, but the prices are around $60 where I live. I am not willing to spend around $240 for shoes. If you have a toddler or know of where I can find some shoes that (kind of) meet my standards, please share! Links, Brands, and Stores are greatly needed. (If it matters, my childrens shoe sizes(little kid) are: 4, 9, 8, and 12) Thanks!

I agree with Smiling Eyes – Ross is GREAT. My 19 month old daughter Loves her shoes – always wants to wear them. I got a nice pair of sneakers there for half the original cost and they are amazingly durable. It’s been like 4 months – she wears them every day – they are still in fantastic shape and they seem comfy on her. I have other sneakers some friends have given me as hand me downs, but she always picks the pair from Ross.

You could also try Ebay. Considering that kids that young don’t usually wear shoes for to long you can still get good use out of used ones. Have you also tried googling ‘discount shoes’ ?

I work in a shoe shop, and im being trained to work on kids. Im finding it hard, not with the children, but some of the mothers are so nasty and blunt. Also the children curl up their toes so i cant fit their shoe on, and i end up having to really push their feet in – ive been told to do this but i dont want to hurt them. Im finding it really confusing working on a childrens section, with the width AND the size..
i think im better on adults so hopefully i will be working on this section more often, but i need to be trained for kids anyway..

Any advice??

Not sure why this is in sociology but anyway as a parent I would never want anyone other then myself fitting a shoe for my child. Especially young children under 10 years old. But that’s just me but still how do you even know the parent wants you to put the shoe on the child, I wouldn’t want you to. The task is hard enough for a parent never mind asking a stranger to work on a kid. I understand that it is a job but I wouldn’t want someone fitting me with a shoe and I am an adult. The whole thing, especially for a child, is just a little too personal and if the parent is there why wouldn’t the parent want to do this, kids shoes have to fit right and a parent usually knows their kids well enough to tell if it fits right. I would say a parent should put the the shoe on the child. The salesperson can do all the other work, help sizing the foot, selling the shoe, getting the various sizes etc….but fitting it onto the child can be left to a the parent, the salesperson could tie it, buckle it…I have actually never considered anything else, do parents really expect you to do that, try not doing it at first and letting the parent have the chance of doing it (only if it doesn’t get you fired of course) and see. But if your boss expects you to or if a customer expects you to then your just stuck and have to do your best, and in that case make sure the shoe for a child is plenty big enough.

i found these shoes i like, but they’re for boys and if i’m a size 8.5 or 9 in womens do you know what that would be in boys?

2 sizes smaller. 6.5 and 7.

What do childrens shoe sizes start from and go up to – starting with toddlers going to the older kids.

I work in Clarks and dont know much about kids shoe sizes.
Plus they do the width fitting as well which is quite confusing could anyone explain then to me. What they start from and go up to and which is widest/narrowest

And what are cruisers and crawlers and…doodles…customers ask me they want some doodles and im like..what the hell are they lol!

Need full info please if anyone knows. Cheers. I love you all at Yahoo Answers you are all super duper! lol (Im in a good mood)

Well, I don’t know about doodles and crawlers and stuff, but kids shoe sizes are from 10-3. 10 is really small!! For new born babies. Then it goes 10, 11, 12, 13, 1, 2.3 Then you are in adult sizes. They go up to about 10 as well. But that is huge! After three there is 4,5,6,7,8,9,10 adult.

Hope this helped.

P.S All the sizes come in halfs. (2.5) before 3.
