We will be moving this summer, and will be storing alot of things including baby clothes in a storage unit until we find a house. They may be stored up to 3 months, and in a hot, dry climate. What is the best way to store the clothes? Bags, boxes, tubs? What will keep them the "freshest?" Thanks!!

To keep them the absolute freshest you’d want to use vacuum bags to completely remove the air. After that your best bet would be sealable plastic tub containers.

and how do you find suppliers?

There are two aspects to your question and I can give you some information on both.

1. First of all setting up your online store is basically setting up a website. However having a website is the easy part – its getting people to your website, and not just any old people, but people who want to buy your range of kids clothes. This is the harder part.

However, you should consider "Site Build It" which is now acknowledged as the key way to do just that. They offer not only the web hosting but also the optimizing of your site to get it on the top searches in Google and the other sites. Its a full service for $299 a year. That might sound steep to someone starting up but it is worth every penny which you’ll recoup in spades once your site starts making you serious money. A high number of Site Build It websites get listed in the very top positions in Google etc.

2. You need stock. Again, a place on the web that is proving very successful and profitable is Salehoo. Its a complete directory and community of reputable dropship and wholesale companies. A one off payment gets you full access ( dropship is where you make the sale and the item ships direct from the factory/wholesaler – you hold no stock)

I am trying to start up my own chidrens clothing line but need help finding out how to get patterns made and where to by fabric. Trying to avoid manufacturing in China. Any advice?

I see you’re posting in the Canadian section… if you’re in the US, you would have CPSIA to contend with, which has driven a number of manufacturers out of children’s clothing. I don’t know what the status of similar legislation might be in Canada.

The first spot I’d send you for information is actually a US based blog: http://www.fashion-incubator.com — some of the information there is specific to the US, but there’s a lot of basic information there that doesn’t change. I’d also suggest you at least borrow Kathleen’s book from the library and read it.

I really would like to start up a ebay buisness but need to find a good wholesaler with name brand clothing. I was looking to sell possibly Childrens 0-4t. Or possibly maternity clothing because I know thats where I would buy mine when I was pregnant was ebay. I just always wonder where these sellers get their inventory.

I would start looking at co-op groups that get you a significant discount (Like Cruncy-Cooperatives Yahoo group or Granola Chicks ring yahoo group )
