how much of each item is necessary for a complete fall/ winter wardrobe for toddler girls?
i have been buying my daughter way way too many clothes since she was born, and i’m trying to be more realistic with this new season and new size. (i am a young mom and by no means rich, toddler clothes are like a hobby to me) i usually spend about 250 a month, and im sure you can guess how much clothes she has…..and she hardly wears any of them, your input is appreciated. i live in california and it doesnt snow where i live, but it can get cold.

well for my daughter who is 2 and it gets very cold here in the winter.
Bottoms:
pants:8
skirts:2
tights:2
shoes/ boots:1 runners, 1 boots and one special occasion shoes(not all the time just for when she will be wearing a fancy dress or going to a party)
Tops:12
long sleeve shirts:5
sweaters/ hoodies:5
jackets/ coats:1 for play, 1 coat for parties or special occasions and 1 coat for everyday
Other:
dresses:2
jammies: 1 pair per night
depends whether you have access to washing machine and tumble dryer. i have both. my daughter has 4 skirts, about 5 pairs of tights. 5 tops. 3 heavy jumpers. 4 pairs of jammies. one coat. one mac. one pair of jeans. 2 tracksuit bottoms, 5 pairs of socks. pair of boots, pair of trainers and pair of slippers. make them all so u can mix and match them and you’ll have at least 10 different outfits.
i know what u mean though. when my daughter was born i went mad on clothes but had to learn to calm it down a bit

It really depends how much laundry you do. I usually do two loads of colors a week, but I always make sure she has enough of everything to get through at least one week (even with some spills or mishaps) in case I don’t get time during the week.
Here what my 2 1/2 year old daughter has right now
Bottoms:
pants: 8
skirts: none
tights: none
shoes/ boots: 1 pair of shoes, 1 pair of waterproof boots
Tops:
long sleeve shirts: 9
sweaters/ hoodies: 2
jackets/ coats: 2 (one of which is a heavy duty snow day coat)
Other:
dresses: none
jammies: 8
Personally I don’t like dresses for everyday winter wear, it gets too cold here in Stuttgart, Germany. I might buy her one dress during the winter for a special holiday occasion or pictures, but that’s about it.

For my two oldest girls who are 3 and 4 they each have:
pants: 2-3 pairs of jeans
skirts: 5-6 (they love skirts)
tights: probably 5 pairs each
shoes/ boots: 2 pairs of play shoes and 1 pair of school shoes. 1 pair of play boots and 1 pair of snowmobiling boots.
Tops:
long sleeve shirts: 5-7
sweaters/ hoodies: probably 7-8 mixture of both
jackets/ coats: 1 spring jacket and 2 winter coats
Other:
dresses: they probably have 10 each they love wearing dresses they do not like wearing jeans unless I make them
jammies: 3-4 pairs they wear them 2 nights
I would never spend $250 on clothes each month. I might buy them one outfit if its on sale for cheap every couple months but they don’t get new stuff every month.
